Deny it if you like, but I'm an English student. I worked on an English major for two years. I may know what sycophant means offhand, but I can damned well vouch that someone who cares so little about the language that they still use LOL to express themselves wouldn't know what it means.

Not to mention that you used the word 'influential', which is right there in dictionary.com's definition. And since you've barely used a word over two syllables in this conversation so far, I have my doubts you picked that word out of the air.
